“On three distinct years, each separated five years apart from its predecessor, I decided to adapt pop-music composer Brian Wilson’s acclaimed, yet unfinished, SMiLE (a Zen piece with the notion of healing via laughter) to a series of abstract oil paintings…

“‘A Thousand Days and a Day’, an on-going installation project, is NOT designed to promote America’s already famous Beach Boys, but rather to confirm how a great work of music can inspire visual art, as perhaps many paintings once upon a time inspired Modest Mussorgsky to compose his classic, ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’.

“Although its title is borrowed from the ‘Arabian Nights’, it is changed from Nights to Days due to my work being about light and hope.”
